Buying a home in Hurghada while you live abroad is easier to organise when you start with a clear brief. You do not need to compare every property on the market. You need a few suitable options, consistent information about each one and time to check the details before making a commitment.
Tell the agent how you will use the home
Will it be a holiday base, a home for longer stays or a property you may rent out between visits? Say who will use it, how many bedrooms you need and what you want to spend. Include anything that would rule out an apartment, such as difficult access or a location that does not suit your daily routine.
Compare the same information for each apartment
Ask for the unit number, floor plan, internal area, outdoor area and location in the building or project. Keep these details together. A balcony, garden or roof should be considered separately from the rooms inside, so you can see what space you would actually use.
For a new development, ask what the images show and what stage the specific property has reached. A rendering is a design illustration; it is not a photograph confirming the current condition of a home.
Request the current offer in writing
Collect the price, payment schedule, specification and confirmed charges for the selected unit. Find out what furniture and equipment you would need to buy separately. If an important detail is missing, ask for it rather than filling the gap from an old advertisement.
Arrange a viewing or a focused remote review
On a visit, assess the route to the apartment, light, surrounding buildings and the layout. If you cannot travel, ask for a walkthrough of the specific property where possible, alongside its plan and location. Keep a list of questions that still need an answer.
Review the documents before paying
Ask an independent legal professional to review the documents and explain the requirements for your particular purchase. Confirm the seller’s details, the payment recipient and what the reservation or contract commits you to. Keep copies of the offer, questions, written answers and payment records.
Plan what happens after the purchase
If you will be away for long periods, decide who can check the apartment and organise approved maintenance. Our guide to looking after a Hurghada property from abroad gives you a practical list of questions.
Start with a shortlist
Browse NGI’s projects and send your requirements through the consultation form. Ask for available options that match your needs, with current plans and written terms, so the next conversation is about homes you would actually consider.
